Sammie Wallinga
Studio Manager at WAM Studios SF
- Pro Tools Certified
- Dolby Atmos Certified
Sammie Wallinga is a producer, recordist, and mix engineer with a deep love for all things heavy and heartfelt, Sammie is always chasing the rough edges and happy accidents that make a song feel real.
She’s a classically trained percussionist and self-taught guitar shredder who grew up gigging in punk and jazz bands. Over the years, she’s played everything from experimental art-rock to sludge metal, and still plays live whenever possible.
Originally from Chicago, Sammie spent nearly a decade in IT infrastructure and software engineering before making the financially questionable but spiritually correct decision to go all-in on music. A former WAM intern, Sammie honed her craft as a house engineer at the legendary Record Plant in Sausalito.
As Studio Manager and Staff Engineer at WAM, Sammie keeps the sessions smooth, the gear humming, and the interns happily over-informed. She’s especially passionate about supporting queer artists and creating a recording environment where everyone feels safe turning up and pushing the bounds of their creative imaginations.

Minji Will
Audio Engineer at WAM Studios SF
- Pro Tools Certified
- Dolby Atmos Certified
Minji is a Pro Tools–Certified Instructor and Dolby Atmos–certified producer, recording engineer, and mixer. Before joining Women’s Audio Mission as a house engineer and Internship Program Manager, she worked as a staff engineer at Gravity Studios in Wicker Park, Chicago.
Minji has been lucky to work on projects ranging from major-label artists to local musicians creating their first recordings. Highlights include working with Wasia Project, Rick Nowells, and The New York Times, but she finds joy in every project, and in helping people bring their artistic visions to life.
She is also a vocalist and has performed internationally in various ensembles, singing in Paris, Montreal, Poland, and across the United States. Her background as a singer deeply informs her love for recording vocals and vocal-driven music.
Outside the studio, Minji loves restoring vintage lamps, hiking, reading poetry, and cooking.
Minji became a teacher because of her childhood flute teacher, Mrs. Janovics, who showed her that music is a language of connection, freedom, and transformation, and how life-changing it is to have someone patient and kind believe in you. That experience inspired Minji to study music education and teach in many forms. She is passionate about making the healing power of music accessible to people who haven’t traditionally had access to it, a commitment that led her to study alternative notation systems at the Resonaari Centre in Helsinki, Finland.
